A watch shaped by the place we call home.

Lincoln has always been part of Pinchbeck.

For twenty years, we have worked from the same office, opposite Lincoln Cathedral. Every day, we look up at it. We work in its shadow, in a medieval building of our own, surrounded by the city that has quietly shaped so much of what we do.

So, eventually, we knew we had to make a Cathedral watch.

Not just a watch with a cathedral on it. A watch that felt like this place.

It started with a painting

This is our second collaboration with artist Dominic Parczuk.

The first gave us The Lincoln, a watch inspired by Dominic's light, airy interpretation of the city on a warm day. We made just 50, and they sold out quickly.

The Lincoln became a real collector's piece for us.

This time, we asked Dominic to take us somewhere different.

He painted Lincoln Cathedral at night, with the soft glow of the Exchequer Gate and Castle Square below it. Darker colours. Deeper tones. A completely different atmosphere.

And, once again, Jason got to work.

Turning a painting into a watch

Jason designed The Cathedral around Dominic's work, pulling colours directly from the painting and building a palette that would carry that feeling onto the wrist.

The dial itself takes inspiration from the Bishop's Eye window at Lincoln Cathedral. Its tracery became the starting point for the intricate pattern across the centre of the watch.

There has been a lot of testing involved in getting it right.

The colours, the contrast and the fine detail all needed to work together when printed on a dial. It has taken longer than we hoped, but some ideas need a bit more patience.

We're pleased we gave it the time.

A little bit of Lincoln in everything

The Cathedral brings together parts of two watches that have meant a great deal to us.

There is the connection to the city we explored with The Lincoln.

And there is the architectural detail and Roman influence that has always been part of the Lindum.

Somewhere between the two, The Cathedral found its own identity.

It feels familiar to us, because Lincoln feels familiar to us.

Paul has his own connection to the Cathedral through the work he does there. Our office has sat opposite it for two decades. We've watched the seasons change around it from the same windows.

You don't always realise how much a place has become part of your work until you try to put it into something you make.

This is our attempt.
