Every Pinchbeck watch is assembled by our watchmaker, Rob Inman. Rob has spent many years at the bench and every watch passes through his hands before it reaches its owner.

Watch assembly is the process of bringing together all the individual components that make up a completed watch. This includes fitting the movement, dial, hands, case and strap before carrying out testing and final inspection. It's the point where individual parts become a functioning watch.

Because precision takes time. Every watch must be assembled, checked, tested and prepared before it can leave the workshop. Building to order also means each watch enters the process after purchase rather than being produced in large batches ahead of time.

Most collection watches take approximately eight weeks from order to completion. More complex personalised, bespoke or collaborative projects may require additional time depending on the nature of the commission.

Yes. Our collection watches are built to order rather than produced in large quantities and held in stock. This allows us to focus on each watch individually and maintain a closer connection between the workshop and the owner.

We do not generally keep large quantities of finished watches in stock. Most watches are assembled after an order is placed and enter the workshop schedule accordingly.

Quite simply, that's not how we want to work. We're a small independent British watchmaker and prefer to focus on building watches carefully rather than building as many as possible. That approach may not be the fastest, but it suits us and the people who choose our watches.

Yes. We welcome visitors by appointment and are always happy to show people the watches, answer questions and talk through the different ways to own a Pinchbeck.

Not in the traditional sense. We're a working watchmaking workshop rather than a retail showroom. Visits are arranged by appointment and offer the opportunity to see the watches in the place where they're assembled.

You'll have the opportunity to see the watches, meet members of the team, discuss any questions you may have and gain a better understanding of how we work. Most visits feel more like conversations than sales appointments.

Because the workshop is a working environment, this isn't always possible. However, we're always happy to discuss the build process and answer questions about where your watch is within its journey.

Yes. If you'd like to know how things are progressing, we're always happy to provide updates and answer questions along the way. One of the benefits of working with a small watchmaker is having direct access to the people involved.

Occasionally suppliers discontinue components or materials. If this affects an order, we'll discuss the options with you and agree the best path forward before proceeding. Communication is always our priority.

Collection watches are part of our made-to-order range and can be ordered throughout the year. Personalised and bespoke watches begin with a conversation and involve varying levels of customisation. Watchmaker's Specials are one-off or highly limited creations offered exclusively through The Watchmaker's List. Despite their different beginnings, all three are assembled in the same workshop.
